Failure to exile Arafat 'was historic mistake'
Ariel Sharon's government made a "historic mistake" in failing to exile Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, a leading Israeli cabinet member said yesterday.

The comments by Shaul Mofaz, Israel's defence minister, will help burnish his credentials as a future prime minister when Mr Sharon is politically vulnerable and under attack from the Right.

On the eve of his first official visit to Britain in his present post, Mr Mofaz, former head of the Israel Defence Forces, insisted that Mr Arafat must go.

"Arafat is a terrorist leader and I suggested during my tenure as the chief of staff to exile him," he said.

How many lives may have been saved if the weasel were caged like his friend Sadaam?

2. As long as the murderous Sharon left with him I think it would be a
great idea. The last thing that place needs is to be ruled by 2 killers.

3. He should have been eliminated
after the 1972 Munich massacre. What great harm that thing has done.
