Recognizing Israel not key - Palestinians

Nearly half of all Palestinians in the occupied territories agree with Hamas' view that there is no need to recognize the existence of Israel.

On other issues, 71 percent said they support a new cease-fire between Palestinians and Israelis on the basis of not targeting civilians.

No need to recognize Israel? No targeting civilians? Israel does not! Oh, my.

1. Not targeting civilians
is a good thing, isn't it?

And most Arab countries have not recognized Israel.

Also not the wording 'There is no -need- to recognize Israel'. What question did the survey ask?

You can rig any survey any which way you want to get the answers you want.

How many participants were in the poll? Who did the poll? What personal political views did the pollsters subscribe to? Where can I read the report?

The article leaves out the most basic of facts.

2. In understanding the Middle East
You could ask if a person liked oranges and the response would be "not if I have to recognize Israel"

6. Can I ask you a serious question please?
Between the oranges and the Baker quote are you being serious?

Please tell me you're not and the joke is on me. If you're serious I have other important things to do like watch some paint dry.

3. Delusion

Recognizing Israel in Palestine should be as fundamental as recognizing gravity. They are there to stay. Failure to deal with them in a respectful way will only lead to more bloodshed.

The terrorists in Palestine have a 100% wrong strategy. Rather, they should look to Ghandi and Martin Luther King for guidance. The people of Israel are not soul-less and heartless. But they are not appealing to the heart and soul of Israel. They are threatening the life of Israeli's. That has a tendency to mute hearts and souls EVERYWHERE!!!!

If Palestinians went non-violent, they would completely diffuse the Israeli hardliners. They would empower those who want peace and an a Palestinian state. The second Intifada main result was to take the Israeli doves OUT of power and put the Israeli hawks INTO power. They've undermined their allies in Israel who would give them the sovereignty they desire.
