On Monday two weeks ago Hafez al Barghouti, the editor-in-chief of the official daily newspaper of the Palestinian Authority, Al Hayyat al Jedida, who is personally close to Palestinian Authority
Chairman Yasser Arafat, declared in an editorial that was published in the newspaper: "The map of the fence cancels out the road map." For the first time during the two years the fence has been under
construction, the opinionated Barghouti, who never misses an opportunity to express his opinion on any subject, sharply attacked the idea of its erection and detailed how it undermined the pillars of the road map and posed a danger to diplomatic progress.

Several days later, Barghouti went further in a detailed description of Arafat as he leans over the map of the fence, disturbed and worried. read more
