Northrop Grumman buys 14 IAI Hunter UAVs for $16m
Sapir Peretz | Globes Online

To date, IAI has delivered seven Hunter systems to the US Army, one to the French Army, and three to the Belgian Army.

Sources inform “Globes” that Northrop Grumman has bought 14 Hunter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) for $16 million.

The deal was made possible after the US Department of Defense granted Northrop Grumman a $33 million supplementary budget to develop, assemble, and buy Hunter UAVs. Defense industry sources said half the money would be transferred to IAI, as per the contract.

1. Let's get this straight
we American taxpayers give Israel money to make these military vehicles, then we give our own government money to pass on to Northrop Grumman, so that they can in turn buy the vehicles which Israel has made.

Is that a scam or what?!?

2. No scam at all
Clearly, Israel has some skill here in building these. We loan Israel money and some of that money goes to keep various defense industry afloat.

In an unrelated transaction, we choose to buy quality equipment from our ally.

6. How so
We rely on Israel's technical skill to develop a product. Companies then buy it. Gimme such a scam every day.

7. We are double paying...
we American taxpayers give Israel money to make these military vehicles, then we give our own government money to pass on to Northrop Grumman, so that they can in turn buy the vehicles which Israel has made.

That's pretty clear...

9. Not the facts
No money is given to Israel to make these vehicles. Private companies manufacture the aircraft vehicles.

10. ah
so because the billions we give Israel freely doesn't go directly towards the accounts of these private companies, then there is no scam involved?
