IDF, settlers clash during removal of W. Bank structure

Six settlers and three Israel Defense Forces soldiers were lightly injured on Tuesday during clashes that erupted when troops arrived to dismantle a synagogue at the illegal West Tapuah outpost in the West Bank. Seventeen settlers were arrested in the scuffle, including a woman who pushed a soldier off the roof of the structure.

According to Army Radio, troops cleared the structure of religious artifacts, and then demolished it.

Witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot during the clashes. Both the settlers and the troops denied firing weapons.

IDF soldiers and police carryied out an IDF decree soon after the High Court upheld the military's right to demolish the structure.

These folks have the honesty and sense of fair play of Tom DeLay. Of course, you don't hear about the two or three bigger structures they allow to go up on Palestinian land in some other part of the Occupied Territories.

Tapuah West Synagogue Destroyed Again

(IsraelNN.com) Army troops a short time ago returned to the Shomron community of Tapuah West and destroyed the start of the rebuilding of the synagogue that began yesterday afternoon after the army destroyed the first building under construction.
