It is time to rethink the defense of Al-Arian
http://www.sptimes.com/2003/08/03/Columns/It_is_time_to_rethink.shtml

The computer contains a draft and final version of a document called "The Manifesto of the Islamic Jihad in Palestine." According to the affidavit, the Jihad's philosophy was based on "rejection of any peaceful solution for the Palestinian cause." The United States is called "the great Satan America" in the manifesto.

The computer also contains a document outlining a "charter" to set up an organization within the United States called a "A Center of the Studies, the Intelligence and the Information."

"Our presence in North America gives us a unique opportunity to monitor, explore and follow up . . . We are in the center which leads the conspiracy against our Arab world," the charter states.

Don't think for a minute this was going to be some bookish graduate studies program.

Plans for the center call for training "brothers" in arms and espionage while "benefitting from the available opportunities that exist in this country." Those trained should also be able to "infiltrate the sensitive intelligence agencies," the document says. The plans also call for figuring out ways to export arms from the United States.

Al-Arian's reach was wide and bold. He spoke in a letter of how good relations were between his group and the terrorist organization Hamas. "There are serious attempts at establishing permanent coordination and unity of action," he wrote.

1. what I don't understand
Edited on Mon Aug-04-03 02:16 PM by StandWatie
is why Sami is in jail but there are four JDL groups in Florida. If having a shitty attitude about mediated peace between Palestinians and Israeli's is a crime then they need to be in jail to, if it's about being connected to "terrorist" groups then they REALLY need to be in jail since they always have been a group of bombers and killers.

I am not sure the Zionist lobby has to break the law. Not if they hire the right people, I mean. After a while it gets hard to tell the two apart. The mobsters start to look legit, while the lobbies have a little dirt on their noses. It's a funny business Politics. All those offers no one can refuse. Kind of like the agony and the ecstasy. A little bit of pain brings some euphoria. No one asks questions. No one is the wiser. Yet when it comes to smarts everyone knows it all.

36. Indeed.
Life is not fair.
You have to play the hand you are dealt.

Truth and beauty and fairness and honesty and freedom and democracy
are things that people do, or not.

The World is neutral on these subjects.

So if you want the world to be a certain way, then you have to
walk the walk.

Wally: I listened to things I already knew. I waited for
people who were late. I was a passenger in my car pool.

Pointy Haired Boss: Let's start the meeting.

Wally: Yes! Keeping the streak alive.

8. Jim Sagle,
You categorized someone as a Nazi the other day. You never responded to my inquiry as to why you thought he was a Nazi. No matter. It seems to me that if it's something that requires thought on a more complex scale than "ain't nothin' but shit," you seem to be not available. Oh well. I would have liked to see a more dignified answer from you. I guess people in hell want ice water, but they'll never get it.

"ain't nothing but shit" - well, of course, it's a matter of opinion. I'm entitle to mine and you are entitled to yours. There are rules, however, that each one of us have to follow. I'm not sure your classification of other poster's posts as "shit" is congruent with that of the rules. I could be wrong.

it's one hell of an illustration of the usual level of background knowledge and analytical ability of your usual species of Israeli partisan. You have to purposely not look too close at the mythology behind it or it falls apart so thats why you hear so much "nothin but shit", it's self defense.

but plenty of them are like that, unfortunately. I've met one who has stated that the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip could vote in Israeli elections before Hamas started the suicide bombings. He also completely supports any action by the IDF, regardless of how many innocent civilians it kills, because "the Palestinians learn to hate Israelis."

very true, I've ran into Palestinian advocates who buy in to a bunch of insane bullshit to and you can't change their minds about anything either, you could get in a time machine and show them things and it wouldn't matter.

It's really too bad, the national narrative is more important than the truth.

28. hmmm

now that you say it that way. I had a post deleted because I mentioned that I thought the poster I was responding to had shit for brains. It was one of my longer posts too, which I thought was a pity, because of some of the more important points I had raised. So I asked the moderator if the post had been cut only because of the "shit for brains" comment. The mod responded back that was indeed the reason and that the rest of my post was okay. So I don't tell other posters they have shit for brains anymore, even though I might think they do. It really isn't very polite, you know what I mean?

Now with Jim Sagel it's kind of a signature. As long as I live now, I will never forget Jim Sagel. It's kind of like Bob Hope always said...

...thanks for the memories...

it has nothing to do with it, reality doesn't conform to a bunch of fairy tales about poor, beset with woe, for no reason except the dark seed of anti-semitism that lives in the gentile heart, Israel.

well you know I am with you there StandWatie, but are you sure reality doesn't conform with fairy tales? From the looks of it, it seems to me that the fairytales have saturated the market and more than one gentile believes these fairytales too.

Am I the only one that gets the feeling that at any given moment these fairytales are going to become nightmares and not just for one people but for many?

That's what happens when the obvious questions don't get asked. Is that because the GENTILES don't want to be labeled anti-Semites? So they've opted to be polite rather than to demand some answer? Because that there Florida has turned out to be one very hot spot begging for attention, stripers and all.

7. If the evidence supports the fact that he's a traitor or has plans to
commit treason, then by all means the man should be sent to prison. He should be made an example of in its extreme.

However, if this an issue of free speech and the ability for someone to think and have ideas that aren't in line with what we think they should be then I disagree wholeheartedly.

The KKK and various Nazi and Nationlist organizations have similiar manifestos that "go against the American grain." I will fight for their rights to organize and have liberty of free speech. This is one of those things where you can't sacrifice liberty for security. I can't at least. If we do, then the "enemy" has already won.

33. Yes this free speech liberty stuff.
Edited on Mon Aug-04-03 09:48 PM by Wonder

It has become another peeve, like fairness and this pursuit of happiness stuff. I know it gets tricky. You see while I certainly understand the rationale, when one raises this argument regarding the KKK and various Nazi and Nationalist Organizations; I have a BIG problem in terms of the double standard. For comparison, let's use the KKK.

All those years of terror they rained down upon fledgling Afr. Am. communities. They were never disbanded. Never really brought to any kind of justice. Instead they've for the most part subverted. Every now and again one of the grand poo-bah's runs for office.

Then comes the Black Panthers. In two minutes they are stamped out like palmetto bugs. Afterall, one could argue the Black Panther were a militant organization that rose up in response to many years of KKK terror. Rose up to talk about their freedom and their equality. Two minutes in, Eldridge, his soul's on ice, and the Chicago seven is on trial. Not much latitude there. How is one terror organization allowed freedom of speech with no justice served for their terror, and another one crushed almost immediately?

After all those years of hangings and cross burnings, razing whole Afr. Am. communities to the ground (we don't even have to go as far back to the slave auctions in South Carolina), then comes the articulate voice of Malcolm X, tell the truth he was too. No questions asked they stamp him a hatemonger. David Dukes runs for office.

It's a strange peculiarity this freedom of speech and liberty stuff.
