The settlers' only chance
Among the Jewish majority in Israel, agreement is emerging not to allow the settlement project in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip to lead Israel into the binational situation. The implication of such a scenario in the fairly near future is, of course, the loss of the Jewish majority. All the surveys show that a clear majority (even a "Jewish majority," for those who insist on one) today supports the evacuation of most of the settlements as part of a peace agreement. A large proportion of the public is even ready to accept their unilateral evacuation.

Therefore, those who would like this settlement project to continue - the settlers themselves and their supporters - are left with only one course of action: to shape a solution that will differentiate between the cessation of Israeli rule in the areas of Yesha (Judea-Samaria-Gaza) and the continued existence of the settlements there. To put it simply: to make possible the existence of Jewish settlements in an area that will be under Palestinian rule.

1. This is a tough time for the settlers
The thinking ones among them should have known that this was coming. I doubt they'll like the idea of staying in their settlements if the area is under Palestinian rule. They might demand protection by the IDF, and I don't think the Palestinians will agree to that.

Well, it's important that they get together and talk and compromise, and try to achieve the win-win solution.

4. I think the arrogant settlers
who have destroyed Palestinian olive plantations, and caused so much hardship, should definitely move back to Israel proper! I don't think they would be welcome to stay. But you never know. Maybe they'll be forgiven.

6. Based on history
We know how "welcome" Jews are in the Arab world, including the PA controlled West Bank and Gaza, where they kill even Palestinians who are accused (note, not even convicted) of cooperating with Israelis.

7. The Arabs can be very hospitable
but apparently not to the Jewish people. I still don't know why these cousins hate each other so much, and the occupation of Palestinian land for so long has just made it worse. The best thing is for all the settlers to go home, and let the Palestinians finally have their own country.

Must say that it was shocking to see the pictures of the collaborators hanging in the square, but that is what happens to collaborators. You get shot when you're found out. It isn't something new.

8. Apparently?
That is the understatement of the century.

A quick question for you. What do you mean by the term, "settler?" Many of the Palestinians take that to mean any Israeli Jew. Is that what you mean?

Actually, not all collaborators are shot everywhere. Some places have these things calle courts and try them. Israel is one such place.

10. Isn't a settler
a Jewish person who lives in a settlement in the occupied territories?
How can anyone disagree with the Palestinians who want all these people to go home so they can have their land back.

Collaborators are sometimes (often?) taken care of by their furious colleagues before they get to court. (I must have seen too many movies!)

11. Now another question
What do you consider to be the "occupied territories?"

Well, I can certainly disagree about Palestinians who want to go into Israel and lay claims there since they are not citizens.

Yes, Palestinians typically murder people they THINK are collaborators. Civilized nations generally try people.

5. Only when all your neighbors already ethnically cleansed the Jews
But you seem to like to ignore that.

9. Democracy
A bi national state does not ensure democracy. Democracy exists in a single national state. What kind of accusation is this?
