"We Have Three Dead!" Gaza Flotilla: Communications Lost During Urgent Cry for Help from Turkish Ship Mavi Mari
by C. L. Cook

A live feed from Turkish TV aboard the lead ship, in the nine ship Gaza Freedom Flotilla, the Mavi Mari was interrupted shortly after a frantic call for help from the ship was issued.

The last things heard from the Turkish TV live feed from the Mavi Mari: "We have 3 people killed." Then it goes dead.

Bethlehem-based Canadian journalist, Jon Elmer reports he is following the progress of the flotilla on a maritime tracker, and through live feeds reports:

"It goes from fullspeed, does a hard 90 degree turn, then stops. Then they get boarded. The live feed went back up with only audio...a woman is yelling; "We need help! People are hurt."

Some let fear make them into being like that which they fear, very sad.

Poppy Bush and Jimmy Carter the two exceptions.

20. No. You do NOT get to make such a ridiculous assumption.
Based on your fantasy of the relationship between the US and Israel. Obama has already snubbed the Israeli leadership. They are hardly confiding their military secrets with him.

But maybe Obama will be pissed enough to finally cut Israel loose. That's another of your fantasies, isn't it? BOO! The Jews are coming to get you!

15. CNN: Turkish media reported two dead and 50 injured
Israeli military boards ship in Gaza flotilla
By the CNN Wire Staff
May 31, 2010 -- Updated 0456 GMT (1256 HKT)

(CNN) -- Israeli soldiers boarded a Turkish boat carrying aid for the Palestinian territory of Gaza during a pre-dawn raid, the Free Gaza Movement said.

"At about 4:30 am, Israeli commandos dropped from helicopter onto deck of Turkish ship, immediately opened fire on unarmed civilians," a post on the group's Twitter page said.

Video aired on CNN sister network CNN Turk showed what appeared to be soldiers rappelling onto the deck of a ship.

Turkish media reported two dead and 50 injured in the alleged incident as a flotilla of six ships approached the Gaza coast....http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/05/31/gaza.protest/

From: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/report-at-least-10-activists-killed-as-israel-navy-opens-fire-on-gaza-aid-flotilla-1.293089

Over 60 pro-Palestinian campaigners wounded after six-ship convoy sailing for Gaza Strip ignored Israel's order to turn back, Turkish news reports.
By Anshel Pfeffer, Avi Issacharoff, The Associated Press and Reuters

NTV said between 10 and 15 people were killed, with over 6o wounded.

Earlier Monday, Al Jazeera reported that the Gaza aid flotilla had changed course to avoid a confrontation with Israeli warships.

The Israeli naval vessels reportedly made contact earlier with the six-ship flotilla, which is carrying 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid and supplies to Gaza.

17. From BBC report
<snip>

Turkish TV pictures taken on board the Turkish ship leading the flotilla show Israeli soldiers fighting to control passengers.

The footage showed a number of people, apparently injured, lying on the ground. The sound of gunshots could be heard. It is not clear whether the fighting is ongoing.

Al-Jazeera TV reported from the same ship that Israeli navy forces had fired and boarded the vessel, wounding the captain.

The Al-Jazeera broadcast ended with a voice shouting in Hebrew, "Everybody shut up!". > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/middle_east/10195838.stm

18. "Never bring a knife to a gunfight"
unless your intention is to commit suicide.

IDF Navy commandos encountered fierce resistance early Monday morning as they boarded international aid ships on the way to Gaza to break the Israeli blockade of the Strip.

According to defense officials, upon boarding the ships the commandos were attacked by activists with rocks, knives and metal pipes.

The soldiers responded with crowd dispersion measures.

At one point activists succeeded in stealing the weapon of one of the soldiers, leading to an escalation in violence.

According to unconfirmed Turkish reports, 10 activists were killed and dozens more were injured.

At least 6 Israeli soldiers were injured in the fighting, 2 of whom are in moderate condition.

22. I'll try again.
Everybody on the planet believes that a supply of rocks and knives would be effective against the (new try) 'truly lovely and admirable in every way' IDF.

Anyone who would make or repeat that claim is (new try) 'brilliant, good hearted and motivated by nothing but true compassion.'

Hope this variation fits within the rules about what can be said here.

23. Aw gee, aren't you nice!
Having fun playing with your straw man? I never suggested that such a tactic was effective, just suicidal. But then I've never been a fan of suicide tactics in general or human wave tactics in particular, and I don't think much of those who are.

25. Since some mod removed the statement of fact and you missed the mocking in that 'allowed'
(so far) is an Orwellian allowed version, Do you actually believe the humanitarian aid shipment was loaded with rocks and knives? I guess saying anything that suggests you might actually be that deluded or depraved offends the local PTB. so I'll just refer readers back to what you said, o4 lookup your record to what is the obvious.

28. According to what laws? They were in INTERNATIONAL waters
there is NO way around it: The Israelis have committed a grave crime. And they have attacked a NATO country.

Go ahead- make excuses, but those are the facts. Just because YOU don't think they should have been there doesn't change the ugly reality of what Israel did. Israel has committed a war crime with this act.

Is it a surprise they were fired upon?

Did they think in their arrogance they could ignore Israel and just break blockade?
