Israeli Sightseers Flock to Border to Watch Gaza Killings Picnicking on Hill Overlooking Gaza, Israelis Engage in World's Creepiest Spectator Sport January 12, 2009 (antiwar.com)

Parash Hill, a nature reserve in southern Israel, is a great spot for a picnic. With lush green fields and a view all the way to the Mediterranean, it is a serene and picturesque place where residents of Sderot come to quietly enjoy nature. But in a nation obsessed with the glories of its latest military adventure, Parash Hill is now a place for Israelis to gather and watch the death unfold.

1. Well, isn't that just lovely. How could you sit and watch like it was a fun thing.
I guess, though, its no worse than in Roman times when they had the games.. Using slaves to fight against one another and wild beasts. Glory spectator sports. What is it in humans that makes us so savage and beastly.

2. Not a new development
In the first Battle of Bull Run, people from Washington DC traveled to Virginia with picnics to watch the war up close.

4. Ohh... so that makes it cool to watch kids' limbs melt away from phosphorus and DIME.
Really, humanity has changed one iota... not since the US bloody civil war, not since WWI and not since Poles ignored the smell of teh burning flesh.

Human nature is truly grand, isn't it?
