Most Democrats oppose Israeli offensive on Gaza; Republicans support it (poll)
Sixty-two percent (62%) of Republicans back Israel's decision to take military action against the Palestinians, but only half as many Democrats (31%) agree. A majority of Democrats (55%) say Israel should have tried to find a diplomatic solution first, a view shared by just 27% of Republicans.

In general. there is a virtual tie: 44% in support, to 41% against, with a few undecided.

Rasmussen poll.

4. Its more like Republicans embrace war
and they love the military-industrial complex. Israel is run by it.

6. Figures Which Should Not, Sir, Be Taken Too Far
The same poll shows fifty-five percent of respondents saying Hamas is to blame for the problem, and thirteen percent saying Israel is to blame for the problem, with thirty-two percent not sure. It is towards that proportion of four to one opinion will harden if the matter crystalizes into a serious political issue here.

My on preference, if asked, would be for a diplomatic solution, but there seems no compelling reason to expect there will be one....

8. I'm not much on polls, as you know, but the ways they can be spun ...
I suppose the threads should be combined.

I think the politicians are sort of painted into a corner, and so we will get some form of "ground assault", especially with the Globe poll, but we can still hope.

I mean I agree, but it's hard to back off.

12. Well, Hamas is reckless too.
I mean, it's not that I disagree with that idea. But it's no way to run a country. We seem likely to get NuttyYahoo out of this.

15. It Is Getting To 'Plague On Both Your Houses' Territory, Sir
You could count me among the fifty-five percent who consider Hamas more to blame. You may recall my expressing some hope at the outset responsibility for governing might sober them up a bit, but that has not proved the case. It is a shame. Self-destructive people cannot be kept from their goal indefinitely; those who will their own destruction will find their path to their goal eventually. When people shout out their desire to die, and proclaim they love death more than life, one is sorely tempted to lend them some assistance to the consummation so devoutly desired....

16. Never left it Sir.
I still think the best "assault" on Hamas would be to make life more spiffy in the WB and Gaza, in a purely non-military sort of way, maybe leaving out the nitrogen fertilizer, but apparently I am naive.

One would probably not stay long in power that way anyway, since the rockets would continue, for some time at least. Not much patience in evidence anywhere with that sort of thing.

I tend to think Hamas deliberately provoked it, they were not doing so good. "Please, don't throw me into that briar patch Brer Fox!!!"

The intelligent application of cash might work too, as you mentioned before.

18. Please note that the poll does not mention Hamas
The question was:

Who is more to blame for the current situation…..Israel or the Palestinians?

13. This headline is not exactly accurate
The poll did not ask whether or not Democrats opposed the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

This was the question:

Should Israel have taken military action against the Palestinians or should it have tried to find a diplomatic solution?

Also, bear in mind that this is a Scott Rasmussen poll.

19. Repukes believe whatever Hate Radio tells them to believe
If Limpballs started a telling them on Monday that Obama is a Palestinian, by Wednesday every Repuke in the country would be convinced of it.

Polling Repukes on an issue means nothing.
