Palestinians attack settlers visiting the Tomb of the Patriarchs

Palestinians attacked two Beit El residents on Saturday as they made their way from Kiryat Arba to the Tomb of the Patriarchs.

One of the victims was struck in the face, and his friend called security services. When they arrived at the scene of the incident at Erez Lane, the Palestinians hurled stones at them and attempted to attack them as well.

Noam Arnon, the spokesman for Hebron's settlers, said that police were notified several days ago about the lack of security presence in Erez Lane, which Hebron's Jews use to get to the Tomb of the Patriarchs from Kiryat Arba.

An Israeli was lightly wounded earlier on Saturday by gunfire south of the Palestinian village of Kalandia. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, when Palestinians opened fire on an Israeli vehicle traveling near the West Bank settlement of Alei Zahav.
