Morrissey arrives in Israel
Exclusive photos: British singer lands in Jewish state ahead of Tuesday's concert

<snip>

"This is one concert which won't be cancelled, and here's the proof: British singer Morrissey landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Sunday evening.

The former Smiths' vocalist arrived in Israel along with his assistants and concert production team, all dressed in black and carrying a black handbag and a number of plastic bags.

Morrissey, 49, walked through the VIP lounge and headed towards the Cartlon Hotel in Tel Aviv. Sources close to the singer said that his itinerary for Monday would depend on his mood.

On Tuesday, Morrissey will finally perform at Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park, with the opening acts provided by the New York Dolls and Asaf Avidan."

For Violet. :thumbsup:

1. Thanks, Scurri. Moz is such a washed out insincere has-been...
I'm glad I was always a believer that it was Marr who was the brilliance behind the Smiths :)

2. Old Man, Old Band
As Joe Strummer once sang in the song Death or Glory, "If you been trying for years, we've already heard your song."

3. He manages to butcher 'How Soon Is Now' live...
I'm ashamed to admit my daughter is a Moz fan and got a hold of a concert from a few years ago. I couldn't get over how someone who sang the original song could singlehandedly make such a brilliant song sound so bad. And his latest album was just painful to listen to. I cringe for all the washed up old has beens who don't know when to bow out gracefully. That'll never happen to Pearl Jam (my second favourite band!)

4. I've moved on to "Kid's" music
Mostly, because I got sick of listening to old bands. I liked the Smiths and Pearl Jam.

My latest repertoire includes the Arctic Monkeys, the Wombats, the Fratellis, the Last Shadow Puppets and the Kaiser Chiefs. Great stuff even for old punk/alt guys like me.
