http://www.brunei-online.com/bb/mon/jul21w21.htm"After nearly three years of unemployment, life is finally improving for thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since Israel allowed them to return to work two weeks ago.
The relief at being able to earn money once more means none of them dare complain about security checks, working conditions and the long journey to Israel.
"Sure I'm exhausted, sure I'd rather find a job here in Gaza but I'm realistic and need to feed my eight children," says Kasem al-Khur, who works for a food storage company near Tel Aviv in northern Israel.
Like many in the Gaza Strip, where 70 per cent of the population live in poverty and two-thirds cannot find a job, Khur used to work in Israel before the Palestinian uprising or intifada began in September 2000.
Under a new security deal agreed earlier this month, he was among 10,000 men allowed to cross into Israel provided their former bosses applied for a permit on their behalf.
Before the intifada, some 30,000 Palestinians from Gaza used to work in Israel."
I hope some will now realize what the intifada has done and be grateful to little Israel.
