Hebron - Ma'an - Dozens of Israeli settlers have attacked Al Aqbat mosque in the old city of Hebron on Monday morning.
Ma'an's correspondent reported that the settlers broke into the mosque, in the old market area, on Monday morning. The mosque has been closed by the Israeli authorities since the beginning of the second Intifada in September 2000.
The director of 'Awqaf', the organization in charge of religious heritage and properties, General Tayseer Abu Sneina, told Ma'an via telephone that the settlers have attacked the mosque several times in the last four years. He also said that the settlers are intending to expand the settlements near Ibrahimi mosque, next to the Al Aqbat mosque in Hebron.
