High Court: Palestinians must have access to lands
High court judges accept petition by 5 villages in West Bank, rule that army must not close off areas in way that prevents Palestinians from working lands

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3267469,00.html

<snip>

"The High Court ruled Monday that a military commander must not close off lands in a way that would prevent Palestinian residents from accessing their agricultural lands, "except in cases where there is a concrete need based on exact intelligence, and real threats on the ground."

The High Court received a petition submitted by five Arab villages in the West Bank against the commander of IDF forces in Judea and Samaria, and the Samaria and Judea Police, claiming they prevented Palestinian farmers from accessing their agricultural lands and working on them.

According to the petitions, by restricting their access, the security forces cut off their principal source of finance on which the villagers depends, causing serious harm.

The ruling was issued by Judges Dorit Beinish, Eliezer Rivlin, and Salim Jubran. Judge Beinish wrote that "the use of area closures, through the minimum needed closure, could be proportional only when it is done in the name of defending Israeli residents.

The petitioners, which included Palestinian village councils and the Rabbis for Human Rights organizations, claimed that settlers were also harming the property of residents, and were not receiving appropriate punishments."

2. Anyone taking bets on how long it takes them to just bomb the farms?
I mean, if the farms don't exist anymore, the IDF can just do what it wants (which it will do one way or another).

Palestinians farmers are routinely killed by Israelis for the crime of harvesting olives on their own land. Trying to stay alive is construed as an "attack?"

7. Willful blindness much?
I guess it's easier to support Israel with one's eyes completely shut.

8. You assume much
Because I asked for a link for the source you assume I am half blind?

I support Israel, but only to a point. Settlers attacking farmers on their own property is wrong no matter who does it and for what reason.

Not that I owe you squat for the reason I asked for a source, I will state it.

I had never heard of these incidents and with the amount of Palestinian propaganda swill readily swallowed around here like nectar from the gods, I was wondering how accurate his statement was.

9. Well, your last statement is justification of my comments enough.
You've got to be totally kidding me if you even begin to think the amount of Palestinian propaganda even comes close to amount of pro-Israeli swill that's swallowed throughout the entire country.
