Palestinian hurt while smuggling weapons
Two Palestinians spotted swimming with sacks from Egypt to Gaza; Navy sailors fire at them, hurting at least one

The Navy on Thursday morning fired at two Palestinians who were spotted trying to smuggle weapons by swimming from the Egyptian side of Rafah to the Gaza beach.


At least one of the Palestinians was hurt. The other one apparently threw the sacks and escaped.



The two Palestinians were spotted in an area where swimming is prohibited in the southern Gaza Strip.



Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip reported that one of the two Palestinians shot while trying to smuggle weapons from Egypt to the Strip arrived at the hospital in Rafah in good condition. There were no reports about the other Palestinian.
