Jordan 'holds 20 Hamas plotters'

Jordan has given more details of what it says was a plot to attack Jordanian targets, saying it is holding 20 activists from Palestinian group Hamas.

A government spokesman said interrogation of the Palestinian militants had revealed they were also trying to recruit activists in Jordan.

Last month Jordanian authorities said they had uncovered a Hamas arms cache and were holding several people.

Hamas rejected the allegations at the time as "outright brazen lies".
