Stand Up to Tehran's Lying Tyrant!
The anti-Semitic outbursts of Iran’s fanatical president continue to reach new heights.

Hatred of the Jewish people oozes through Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s ugly rhetoric. Just yesterday, he declared on live TV that the Nazi extermination of six million Jews was a “myth." That obscene lie follows earlier threats to wipe Israel from the map and his menacing demand to expel the Jews of Israel to Europe.

There should be no doubt that Tehran’s tyrant represents a profound threat to Israel and the Jewish people. In the same breath as denying the Holocaust, Ahmadinejad advocates the destruction of the Jewish state.

This is no idle threat. With every day that passes, Iran is a step closer to illegally attaining nuclear weapons. Diplomatic efforts to persuade Iran to abide by its international obligations have so far come to nothing.

In the final analysis, Iran is a threat to all of us — to our security and to the values of democracy, tolerance and fairness which we cherish.

With its aggressive pursuit of nuclear weapons, sponsorship of international terrorism and its official line denying the Holocaust, Iran needs to be told: Enough is enough!

ADL has been pressing world leaders to act against the Iranian regime. But we need to do much more. That’s why we are again asking for your help:

Sign the letter addressed to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and European Union High Representative Javier Solana urging Iran’s isolation!

1. Bird flu, general flu, crop land, peak oil, recession, greed, inflation...
Seems there are plenty of things that are already a danger for us all.

I like to think nuke armageddon is a comparatively quick way out. Compared to starvation.

2. He is a fool, and a danger. I agree. Troubled here, though.
I cannot give Dick Cheney et al a blank check. Anyone who denies the Holocaust deserves condemnation. And I agree that world pressure is the best way to go. But now, we will reap the hatred we have sown, reducing our leverage with a genuine threat to the world. God, for a thoughtful diplomat. Condi isn't it. Intentionally. Oh well, this Administration has at least advanced the Rapture. Because we certainly haven't advanced diplomacy in the Middle East.

3. Just an excuse to invade Iran?
Will Cheney be indicted before he can get his hands on Iran?

5. OK, what are we supposed to do?
So we don't want to unleash Cheney. Fine. But what are we going to do? Can we really tolerate a nuclear armed Iran?

8. I think it is time for the diplomats to start doing something
and I mean not just condemning him like they have been doing. Also, the Arab League could probably put some real pressure on him. Trading partners can put really heavy pressure on him. There's a lot that can be done as the previous was just a short list.

9. Thanks, barb162. I'm just not creative enough
to figure out a good diplomatic strategy to deal with the Iranians.
