Abbas has resigned from PLO...what does this portend?

Arafat is back in charge...as if he ever wasn't in charge. But Bush has refused to talk with Arafat since the day he stole into the WH. Some think his neglect of the Palestinian issue led directly to the WTC tragedy and was connected to the anger and venom directed towards our country. What happens now?

Bush will talk with Arafat? Not likely. Israel will get the green flag once again. This time, they will go all the way. They will take care of the "little" Palestinian problem once and for all? What can we anticipate now that Abbas is gone. Where is the Roadmap for Peace?

I think the US set up Abbas to fail (just so Sharon won't look like a beast when he annihilates the Palestinians). In Shrub's eyes (beady as they are), he gave the Palestinians a chance and they rejected it, so whatever Sharon does at this point is a-ok.
