Palestine Mourns in Solidarity with Jordan
Palestinian Military Intelligence Chief Among Five Palestinians Killed in Amman

10/11/2005

Palestine Media Center – PMC

The Palestinian leadership on Wednesday announced three-day mourning as from Thursday in solidarity with Jordan after three explosions in three hotels in the capital Amman killed 67 people and wounded 300, including the Palestinian West Bank military intelligence chief who was one of five Palestinian victims.

Three suicide bombers carried out nearly simultaneous three attacks on three US-based hotels in the Jordanian capital Wednesday night, killing at least 67 people and wounding 300 in an assault that was claimed by the al-Qaida in Iraq. The kingdom has close ties with the United States and a peace treaty with Israel.

An official Jordanian spokesman categorically denied on Thursday a report by the Israeli daily Haaretz that a number of Israelis staying at the Radisson hotel were evacuated before the bombing by Jordanian security forces and escorted back to Israel by security personnel.
