my assault weapon ban compliant rifle

I live in new york state. As you know, we have our own assault weapons ban that mirrors the now dead federal one. (The differences can be viewed here: http://www.ocshooters.com/Reports/awb/NY-AWB-S8234.html)


So here is my rifle (a 2001 romanian SAR-1), completely compliant with the federal (and ny) bans:



would you say this ban has been effective and should be renewed?

can you spot why this is compliant?

4. I think I know why

There's not evil bayonet lug on that purty piece.

No flash hider, either. That's normal, however, with 45deg muzzle brake AKs/AKMs.



Let me tell you.. the world is a safer place without the bayonet lug!

5. pretty close!

No bayo lug, no foldable stock. The barrel is threaded, and the muzzle brake screwed on (illegal) BUT i put some silver solder under the pin that holds it in place to make it permanent. I wasn't sure that this was a legal way to permanently attach it.

To be sure, i tried to call the government to find out. The BATF told me to call the NY attorney general, as it was a state matter. The attorney general's office told me they didn't know and to contact the state police.
The state police said as far as they knew it was legal, but an attorney might be able to tell me for sure. They also informed me I was crazy to make a big deal out of it and that those details would only be used against me if i commited some major crime and they wanted to throw the book at me to make it hard to plea bargain.

I'm not even going to get into parts counts, i'll just say that little black peice of metal on the bottom of the magazine (the floorplate) has been replaced with one made in the US. That allows me to have that old beat up orange pistol grip(made in romania) i bought from someone online instead of the black pistol grip (made in USA) that came with the rifle. Whew!

It took alot of reading and phone calls to learn how to do so, but I am proud to announce i am fully in compliance with the AWB and imported rifle laws. I have a legal semi auto rifle, and not a kid killing terrorist bullet hose!
Doesn't that make everyone feel safer? Hell, if the AWB had been renewed and this law applied nationwide, think of all the lives it would save!
