After tonight it is very likely you won't have Lunabush to kick around anymore, because, Lady and Gentlemen, this is my last mod day (most likely) and it will be one in which I have welcomed the opportunity to test wits with you."
Ask me anything.
Also, let me get you started by saying, please, guys, try to be nice to one another. We're all democrats here. Different stripes, to be sure, but all Dems. We need everyone on the board and a few tens of million more to re-defeat Bush* in the fall. Please don't piss people off and drive them away with extreme rhetoric on either side of the RKBA issue.
If you aren't a Dem, and you post here, thinking you are somehow benefiting the 2nd Amendment - think again. You are doing no favors to your cause and only serve to make it tougher for the Dems who post here as they attempt to convert other Dems to reasonable gun control or loosening existing controls.
If you chew on the RKBA-issue and assume anyone who wants to possess a gun is a republican, that also diminishes the pro gun-control argument as extremist and alienates those who vote Dem but have strong 2nd Am feelings.
If you are a single issue poster - guns only, don't be too surprised when someone busts your chops about not supporting Dem causes - or - if they blast you for your single-mindedness to remove guns. Remember, the purpose of the DU board is to re-defeat Bush*.
In short, please, as always, argue the point, not the poster. I know, I know, save your breath.
Its been grand - if I am not re birthed as a mod in this forum I will probably come back to spout my "unique brand of wisdom"* from time to time. I have enjoyed my time down here, its been fun getting to know some of you - others, we never really met, but, hey, always a pleasure to read your thoughtful posts.
Thanks for tolerating me for the last couple of months, see ya around!

I just want to say, on record, that "We did get something, a gift, after the mod-term... It was a little cocker spaniel... our little girl, Maddyson, the six-year-old, named it Checkers... I just want to say this right now, that regardless of what they say about it, we're gonna keep it."

the Nixon Checkers Speech* comment from some lunatic on some other board who kept getting banned over here, but felt compelled to keep coming over to offer his pearls of wisdom. Sorry if I used correct spelling - Freeper speak is much too hard to imitate.
