Have you been shot?
I was shot in the back/side when I was in high school, it was an accident by a friend of mine. No big deal, I only spent 1 day in the hospital just to be safe. I was lucky that the bullet didnt fragment when it hit so they could pull it out easily. Anyone else have stories?

1. I was robbed at gunpoint back
in August in my work parking lot, I could very easily have been shot. He shoved the gun in my ribs, then moved it to my neck when he was demanding the PIN for my ATM card because he was pissed off that he didn't find anything more than four bucks cash in my wallet. Fortunately for my son, I'm still here today. I don't think I'll ever forget that, though, ever.

2. I know what that is like
I used to work at a pizza place that got held up 3 times in 1 year. I was alone the second time!

Did they catch the guy that robbed you?

When I got robbed, the idiot cops couldnt find their shoe laces without help. They screwed up the orginal police report, then lost it (so they say), we had to re-sign a new report, the new report didnt include that it was an "armed" robbery, and then they let the case move to the back of the stack of active cases. 3 weeks later, we got robbed again! After that, the owner brought in his ex marine friend to open the door and greet people. No more problems.

4. No
He was just big and fierce looking. Heck of a nice guy but he didnt have to do much to settle the crowd down. Usually just banging the pizza pans together to get their attention did it.

5. What?
You mean to say that an unarmed man prevented further trouble!

No... this isn't possible!

6. Huh?
Do you think you need a gun to protect yourself?

You might be surprised what 300 pound 6 foot 3 samoan can do.

7. Well actually....
"Do you think you need a gun to protect yourself? "

Nope, not at all... I was being sarcastic (I know, it's the lowest form of wit)..

I'm of the belief that there are in fact very very few situations in which a gun is necessary to protect anyone inside a liberal democracy (or even a constitutional monarchy).

Infact I believe guns to be crisis escalators rather than defusers.

8. No, they haven't caught him yet,
which makes me a little nervous sometimes. They have him on film from the ATM camera, because he was stupid enough to use my card to get $700 of MY MONEY out of MY ACCOUNT at the major branch of my bank several hours after it happened. I had reported the card AND the PIN stolen right after it happened, even before I gave the policeman my statement (I insisted on calling the bank before I did anything else), and they assured me they put a block on it right away.

Turns out they put a block on the CREDIT CARD purchase part of the card but NOT the debit/ATM part, which was the important thing. Needless to say my boss, an attorney who had his business account there, made no secret of his extreme displeasure with them and the way they handled it and I got my money back. But not before I had to jump through a ton of hoops, like filling out a ton of paperwork which asked questions like where I kept my PIN and if I'd given it to anyone else, and answering over and over again exactly why I'd given the thug my PIN (well, gee, I don't know, maybe the fact that he had a loaded gun jammed in my neck with his finger on the trigger might have had a little something to do with it).

None of the police officers in the department recognized him, though, and they're not exactly falling all over themselves to try to find him.

13. My point exactly
This is why guns should not be on our streets and the NRA should be ashamed of themselves!
