I heard a sound," says Robin. "I stepped out on the deck, looked over and saw my Tahoe on fire."


Then Robin says a masked man dressed in black hit her in the chest, knocking her back in her house.


"He shut the door, grabbed my husband's ax handle which he uses for a walking stick and (the intruder) hits me again across the arm and he hits me again across the arm and I'm stepping back....I'm thinking all along how can I get out. Where's my hand gun?"


Robin says when she kicked the intruder, she then scrambled to the kitchen, shut the door and grabbed her gun.


"I took it out of my holster, took a step back, took aim...and fired. I aimed where I thought he would be."


Robin shot and missed the attacker who then disappeared.

Trumbull became a suspect in an embezzlement after she was arrested in mid-May. She was charged with nine counts, including arson and filing false police reports after claiming she was attacked and her car was burned at her Convis Township home and two days later that she was attacked in the bathroom of Commerce Pointe, where her office was located.
