City ,state and federal gun auctions
It's a common practice of most state law enforcement agency's to auction off their used weapons to offset the cost of new ones. Most of the weapons we traded in or auctioned off were wore out beyond repair or were no longer reliable.
Should we allow these weapons to be sold to the civilian market?

since they were unfired. :)

21. I think he feels everyone outside his little microcosm of NJ
is beneath his contempt. And, God forbid, you are an average, run-of-the-mill Democrat. Nooooo...you've got to be an ass-stompin', bumper-sticker plasterin', picket-linin' rad-eee-cal.

22. I think there's nothing quite as funny
as the RKBA crowd trying to pretend other people are out of touch...

"you've got to be an ass-stompin', bumper-sticker plasterin', picket-linin' rad-eee-cal."
Better that than a pinhead with a gun fetish, I suppose.

Really, couldn't give a shit what you called me, because whatever sliver of respect I had for you as a "supposed" member of the same political party went out the damned window about 20 minutes ago.

3. They could save costs
by letting police officers buy their own guns. Most gun savy cops would rather carry what they want instead of being forced to carry a gun picked out by a bunch of desk jockeys.

29. Tried that
When the department furnishes the ammo it turns into a hassle.
9mm
40s&w
45acp
I would rather they carry same weapons, same mags, same ammo.
If two deputy's got in a bind it would be to their advantage to be able to swap mags. We issued 220 Sig's, a very tough and reliable weapon.

I own a Glock 23 police trade-in. It works wonderfully.

12. Our weapons had 9000 to 12000rnds through them before trade in.
We were required to fire 250rnds per month at the range. I just don't have confidence in a weapon with that many rnds through it. Did the dealer tell you how many rnds went through before you bought it?

13. Maybe it was more than that.
However, Glocks are typically good for over 100,000 rounds before they are worn out. I had mine checked out by a Glock certified armorer before using it.
