Ignoring Domestic Terrorism
Another grand job by NRA life member AshKKKroft and this unelected drunk...

"...there has been a recent uptick in right-wing domestic terrorism, ranging from the Texas cyanide bomb case to the Florida man who planned a bombing spree against abortion clinics and gay bars.
What's noteworthy is that, so far, we have been very fortunate in all these cases, which have been cracked by happenstance (especially in the Krar case) and watchful citizens -- not because of crack work by law enforcement, whose emphasis, as we have seen, has shifted away from domestic terrorism.
An older case of domestic terrorism -- dating from an incident and arrest that occurred in early 2002, but which went utterly unnoticed in the press -- is now coming to light, and the story underscores, again, just how lucky we've been.
According to this report in the Tennessean, a sharp-eyed citizen likely prevented a Buford Furrow wannabe from shooting up a Jewish children's school in Nashville back in January 2002...
Meanwhile, in Boston, a neo-Nazi's threat against black bus drivers threw a scare into the transit system...
Yeah, but, see, it can't be terrorism. These were Americans. Right? "

1. We're losing the war on terror
Here in Ohio, McCoy, the Sniper is coming back. I hope he will be charged with terrorism, but I don't think it will be likely. You see according to the President who is John Ashcroft, you need several things to be a Terrorist. I've read that Ashcroft refuses to place the 'Army of God' on the list of Domestic Terrorists. I've also read that Dr. Robert Goldstein who planned to bomb Mosques and just plain kill innocent Muslims was not charged with terrorism. This is in the same state where Stephen John Jordi was captured.

We have a problem. Sure enough, we are being overrun with Terrorists. The Terrorists are not the people who wear shawls on their head or attend Mosques, They are the Christian Identity, Neo-Nazis, people such as Krar, Rudolph, and the 1000's of Extremists already inside our borders.

2. McCoy is just a nutjob, not a terrorist
If he had really been interested in killing a lot of people he would have used a different weapon, like a rifle or a bomb.

5. No need to be smartasstic about my comment
We should lock him up for the rest of his life so he can't hurt or kill anyone again.

9. Got Good News And Bad News For You

First, I completely and utterly agree with you on what ought to be done with Mr. McCoy (make a note of it somewhere).

Second, you fully deserved my smartasstic comment, as does anybody else on your side who promotes to any degree the distasteful "Yeah, he killed somebody, but he could have killed a lot more if he'd done it right and used a Really Cool Gun" notion that stains this forum from time to time. Such favors you guys do us........

10. You've missed my point entirely

McCoy's choice of an ineffective weapon suggests to me that he was a lot more interested in getting attention than in harming people. I am in no way suggesting that it would have been "cool" if he'd used a more powerful weapon. What he did was horrible.

It could have been much, much worse, and nobody here on either side of the gun issue has offered anything resembling a workable solution to prevent the next nut-job from pulling off a reign of terror.

Such favors you guys do us........

I could say something about the pro-control side's reliance on pseudosexual put-downs and scatological remarks, but I'll let MrBenchley's posts speak for themselves.

3. You will notice
there was no "preventitive detention" for white right wing looonies who advocated sending anthrax to women's health clinics during what little there was of the anthrax investiagtion...(which now seems to have slipped into the mists of history).

You might also compare and contrast the treatment given the white kid who actually blew up stuff all around the Midwest in 2002 with Jose Padilla from Chicago, still being held without any sign of a trial or actual charges, over concerns he may have discussed a bomb he had no earthly way of building.

11. No mention of ELF?

Though they have only been comitting arson, but radical movements tend to push themselves to become more radical. Someday they'll set a big fire and someone will get caught in it. I hope it never happens, but I think it might. Just goes to show that there are crazies from any political leaning. What about the Kluckers?
