The FBI just released it's preliminary crime figures for 2010. Based on their data, here are the top 10 worst cities over 100k pop..

Based on murder rate*..

4. I was thinking more like Switzerland or Finland or Norway
By the way, even though shooting is the national sport, they really do have open carry of machine guns and their murder rate is half of Japan's.

As for Yemen, the president is really the mayor of the capitol.

12. According to the latest UN data I can find
our murder rate is 5.0 per 100K. Yemen is 4.0 per 100K.

compared to nigeria, haitia, jamaica, sierra leon and a lot of other gun ban zones are very violent.

Obviously they left out Government sponsored crimes in this study.

5. But, but, the Obama Hater at work says Chicago is the deadliest city!
Elgin and Rockford are kind of close, but my coworker insists that Chicago is the Murder Capital of the World (and Obama made it that way)!

Next time tell him those gun bans in Jamaica, South Africa, and Mexico must really be working. Their murder rates range from 3-7 times ours depending on the country.
That said,

but, but, the Latte sipping urbanite at work insists Phoenix and Boise are murder capitols of the world because gun toting heathens are shooting it out over parking spaces every day.

Wonder why Anchorage and Salt Lake City have such high rape rates? Especially Alaska being number two.
