Ohio poised to approve concealed-carry law allowing guns in bars, restaurants and stadiums
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio legislature is on the verge of approving one of the country's most wide-reaching bills allowing concealed firearms in places that serve alcohol, including bars and stadiums.

Lawmakers who support the measure argue that Ohio is merely catching up to 42 other states that already allow concealed carry permit holders to tote their firearms in booze-pouring establishments. But that's not the whole story.

No two state laws are the same. Some allow it in restaurants but not bars. Others prohibit guns in stadiums. Some block firearms in nightclubs. Some states have no law addressing the issue at all, making it legal by default. Ohio's proposed statute, meanwhile, would allow concealed firearms everywhere alcohol could be sold and consumed, including shopping malls and museums.

Followed by reassignment to the Gungeon, where multiple responses will be deleted due to the Gungeon's stricter code of conduct.

11. Under the law, its illegal to drink while carrying a gun.
As others have stated, its legal in many other states to carry in bars, yet I don't here of too many cases of drunks shooting each other.

Somebody who is following the law, will not be drinking.

It also seems like you make an assumption that nobody carries a gun while drinking now. I'm sure it happens all the time, because some people don't care about laws. I'm sure that people who would break the law in the past will still break the law, so this doesn't change anything.

The only think this does is allow law abiding citizens to defend themselves if needed. CCW holders are much more law abiding than the average person, on average. I live in ohio, and this law doesn't bother me one bit.

12. so why is it legal for off duty cops?
Every city has at least three or four bars, even DC and Chicago, where people legally carry and drink in bars every day.

8. Hmmm 42 states already have this - are there mass murders in bars I am not hearing about?
Oh wait - the people doing the shooting probably would carry conceal anyway, legal or not, since they are law breaking thugs already...
