ATF - posts 516 pages of emails - with home addresses
If you sent an email containing your thoughts on the study by ATF of importability of certain shotguns, hang on for the ride. The link to the PDF containing the email is posted in various spots on the web, even contains SPAM emails having nothing to do with the subject matter.

DOJ will stonewall Congress until pigs fly but they were pretty quick to gather and post this, any guesses as to who filed the FOIA to make these public?

2. The stupid part is, the ATF doesn't do the A&T part any more
Enforcement of excise taxes on alcohol and tobacco stayed with the Treasury when ATF was transferred to the Dept. of Justice.

In doing so, in addition to all the other dirtiness we have here, they revealed something quite interesting:

Dear Barbara Terrell,

It’s time that the Obama administration does more to crack down on the gun smuggling carried
out by the Mexican drug cartels.

I strongly support the ATF's proposal to require dealers along the border to report bulk
sales of assault rifles, just like they already do with handgun sales. The ATF must use its
authority to collect this information and better enforce the laws already on the books.

With more than 30,000 people already murdered in cartel wars, this is an emergency that
demands our government’s immediate attention.

I read through quite a few of the different letters, A, B, H, etc...

And when I find letters of support, I find this EXACT message contained in them, with almost no exception.

And yet googling it comes up with nothing.

Has someone been running a very quiet email campaign?

Batty bunch perhaps? Or maybe bloominidiots illegal mayors?

I wonder...whom ever it was that was running that campaign...I wonder if they feel stabbed in the back one little bit.

How do those that sent the emails feel about ATF having released their email and home addresses?

Those who sent an email, do you still trust ATF?

Thanks.

I wonder what independent verification would turn up.

6. MAIG
"The Obama Administration is taking public comments on whether to require sellers to report bulk sales of assault rifles along the border – something already required of handgun sales."

LOL, two or more is considered bulk? Really?

Is buying two pizzas out of the frozen section a bulk purchase? Two loaves of bread?

Two cans of soup? Two condoms? Two pairs of pants (after all, most people can only wear one pair at a time)?

I wonder how many people were misled by that statement.

"The usual suspects are fighting this modest measure and public comments will make a big difference."

Mischaracterize it, then call the mischaracterization modest...

If this cause is so right, why the dishonesty on the part of MAIG to further it?

(note to PuffedMica: No idea what side of this issue you are on, and while this reply is to your post, it is not specifically directed at you.)
