Man On Raft Washes Up On Jones Beach With Loaded Gun
http://www.wpix.com/wpix-man-washes-up-shore-on-raft-with-gun,0,2762090.story

Police are investigating after a man with a loaded gun washed up on the Jones Beach shore Tuesday morning after he apparently drifted out to sea in a raft days ago.

According to authorities, the man identified as Pablo Perez, 47, of Queens staggered onto the Central Mall of Jones Beach Park Tuesday at around 6:15 a.m. where he approached a jogger, asking for help.

“I said, ‘Where did you come from?’” said Gary Smith. “He said, ‘the ocean.’”

<snip>

Smith said the man added, “Oh, by the way, I have a gun.”

Kudos for maintaining situational awareness at sea!!111

7. I wouldn't want to try to kill a sea monster with a 25 cal. semi automatic pistol. (n/t)

3. Another "Nothing Happened" post
We should keep track and see if your "See, there was a gun and nothing happened" posts match or exceed your "Misrepresentation of a gun issue" posts. It has to be close.

4. Wearing a wetsuit under street clothes and carrying a gun, to go fishing?
And not reported missing by his fellow fishermen? Sounds a bit hinky to me (but I'm glad he survived...)

:shrug:

5. Something very odd abour this story...narcotics trafficing?
"At the time, Perez was wearing a wet suit beneath street clothes, police said. He told the jogger he had become separated from a fishing boat three days earlier and had managed to survive by clinging on to an inflatable raft."

Who wears a wet suit under their street clothes and happens to have an inflatable raft and a gun?

This sounds to me like some sort of narcotics trafficking gone wrong.
