With stupid quotes from two politicians who should know better:

“Why can’t we go back to making assault weapons illegal?” asked Mayor Thomas M. Menino, who has fought for stricter gun control. “Why are people able to go to other states and buy guns and bring them to Massachusetts and use them in crimes? That’s the problem. It’s outrageous.”

I've got two better ideas, Mayor Menino:

1. Tell Martha Coakley to quit playing catch-and-release with gun law violators.

2. Stop blaming inanimate objects for the actions of human beings.

We’re literally out-gunned,” said Brockton police Capt. Emanuel Gomes. “You’re talking about the kind of firepower that can go through vehicles, through vests, and that can literally go through a house. Weapons like this don’t have a place in an urban setting.”

Psst, Captain Gomes- Guns didn't turn Brockton into a shithole, poverty and crooked politicians (including at least one police chief)

did. And a round from a KalashniKlone probably wouldn't go through a house- but a round from a nice Massachusetts-legal deer rifle

1. The failed, expired "assault weapons" ban had nothing to do with terminal ballistic performance

The statement is hyperbolic and absurd. Nothing in the expired federal "AW" ban limited ballistic performance. No previously banned weapon had any more terminal ballistic performance than do conventional-looking hunting rifles.

And Rhode Island had a Gun Court- the only cases they heard were gun law violations.

Looks like we could use both here in MA, aw hell, these would be useful everywhere.

I am sick unto death after years of watching Democrats hand elections to Republicans by attempting to (as someone whose name I

cannot recall said) "fight drunk driving by punishing the sober" when it comes to guns and gun law.


These three need some tough love, and if they don't get it from Democrats the Republicans will be happy to make them see the

error of their ways. Coakley as much as handed the Senatorial election to Scott Brown. You'd think she would have learned something

from that.
