Utah lawmakers hold concealed weapons bill
http://www.thespectrum.com/article/20110224/NEWS01/110224007/Utah-lawmakers-hold-concealed-weapons-bill

A legislative committee held a bill that would relax gun laws and allow any resident not prohibited from carrying a gun to possess a concealed firearm.

Republican moran Rep. Carl Wimmer of Herriman says House Bill 129 does not change who can possess a firearm, such as barring those who have a criminal background.

The House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Standing Committee voted unanimously to hold the bill after a heated debate on Thursday morning.

Opponents raised safety concerns because of the lack of required training for gun owners, including how to safely operate their firearm.

1. If the bill is concealed, do we have to guess which hand they are holding it in?
:P

2. Why do you spam with multiple threads on the SAME story?
Just curious.

7. It's not news. My local newscast doesn't run three stories about
the EXACT SAME THING.

If you're insistent upon posting multiple links to the same story, put them all in ONE thread.

Yup.

6. Some states require training, some don't (mine doesn't)
Is there any EV-I-DENCE that requiring training lowers the negligent shooting rate, etc? That would actually be helpful info.

8. Of course, they can simply Open Carry...
with no requirement for training or State permission.

It's not about "safety", it's about tax revenue.
