34. Woody Allen does have a few good quotes
I prefer the one where he says that he is only paranoid because he is observant though.

3. Sounds like he should have been disarmed long ago.
Disarming him now or then actually wouldn't help him. It might make us safer, but it wouldn't help him. But that's how it works in this country. We're perfectly happy to let people marinade in their misery because helping them might affect somebody's bottom line somewhere. Or worse we profit from his fear until he actually becomes dangerous - and then we even find a way to make some vacuous ideological point with that.

Much like the OP.

9. "stockpile"?
From the mouths of anonymous "neighbors"?

What's your definition of "stockpile"? Are you the arbiter of what the word means?

The entire article is so full of vague it's very nearly worthless. There are only two facts in the entire thing... a police officer was wounded, and the alledged wounder is hiding.

I'd pull this pile of excrement furthar apart, but I'm typing left-hand-only due to the broken right wrist I gave myself last weekend and it's too slow and frustrating.

31. From a list of all the mass school related shootings
I made this graph myself a while ago.
It reminds me of other crime rate graphs in which you can draw a line at a certain date when a gun control law is passed. Sure maybe there was a minor uptrend in school shootings when they passed the law but you can see it failed to stop mass shootings in schools after that.

32. Of course there's a link
Gun control measures are adopted in response to increasing violent crime, but because they only address the "how" and not the "why," they fail to affect the existing trend in any significant and permanent manner.

Personally, I think a major factor in trends in mass shootings is the emergence of 24-hour rolling news channels, and the amount of sensationalistic attention they give to mass shootings. It's notable that one period in which there were no school shootings was when the TV news wasn't talking about them: after 9/11.

35. Whoops, sorry
What I meant, to say, of course, was "think how much worse it might have been if it weren't for the additional gun control measures! (and never mind the lack of evidence to support such a surmise)"

13. The fact that he flies a flag upside down worries me ...
a lot more than the fact that he has a "stockpile" of weapons at home.

Hell, most of my shooting friends have "stockpiles" of weapons at home that they bring out to the range to shoot. If you enjoy the hobby of shooting for 20 to 40 years, you will probably have accumulated a "stockpile" too.

Sometimes I swear they are multiplying in my safe.

15. My thoughts exactly
Any sign that a person buys into that "Freeman/Sovereign Citizen/'Patriot'/Zionist Occupation Government" crap is a much more reliable signal of being a few peas short of a casserole than firearm ownership is.

How many is a "stockpile," anyway? I own nine-- make that ten guns, and quite a few of my friends own similar numbers. But none of thinks that the local sheriff's office is out to get any of us. Two of my friends carry because they're a lesbian couple who live in a redneck logging town; is that paranoid of them?

In their situation, I would also carry.

But then, I always carry.

By the way, 10 guns is a good start.

18. Define 'stockpile.'
1? 2? 10? 100?

Does the type of firearm make a difference? A modern, select fire 'black weapon' vs a historical musket?

How much ammunition is 'ok', vs 'hoarding?'

25. No you are a beginning collector.
My collection is at 200 pieces, including a semi-auto BAR, M1919a3, and Thompson. Am I a parinoid stockpiler? My ammo is down some tho, only 8520 rounds of various calibers.

And NON of them are registered.
