ANOTHER Chicago homeowner defends himself from a gang member and convicted felon...
Police say that they pulled over Aaron Marshall of Chicago for a traffic violation, at which point he jumped out of his car, dropped the illegal drugs he was carrying, fled to a nearby home, and dove through the house's front window. The homeowner, who feared for his safety, reportedly grabbed his handgun and fired in self defense, striking Marshall in the chest and saving himself

I wonder if Daley will have the homeowner charged, for ignoring his ban??

1. McDonald v. Chicago should be coming down any day now
I'd be shocked if the Court were to maintain the city handgun ban.

5. This is not really new, it's the first time the media started paying attention
There have been incidents like this for years.

Usually they appear buried at the bottom of page 16 in the Tribune and refer to something like; "78 Year Old stops robbery in apartment lobby". The story will then give a short two paragraph description of the victim and may mention the criminal and just point to "a record" and that's the end of it. Because of the sympathetic nature of these defendants, even Daley isn't stupid enough to prosecute older people defending their lives an property, thats the end of it.

With the Chicago Ban on the bubble, the paper is finally starting to point out the obvious cases where citizens, committing acts of civil disobedience, are actually defending themselves.

Thankfully Otis McDonald wasn't willing to settle for the "mercy" of Mayor Daley if it happens to him.

4. Daley better snap to it if he's gonna keep the commoners underfoot...
We can't just have people surviving such encounters and making their own decisions. That's politically incorrect on so many levels.:o
