Poker Playing Priest Shot Dead During Heated Ladies Poker Game
... Patricia Clark, a 51 year old preacher in the Chicago area, was apparently quite a skilled card player and had been invited to the house of Rosie Morris (46), of the 9300 block of South Ridgeland, to collect a $300 gambling debt owed to her by an “old friend of 20 years.”

Having received the money, Patricia Clark was persuaded to stick around and give her friends the chance to win some of it back, but four hours later, after winning even more cash from them, Morris accused the preacher of cheating.

Patricia Clark vehemently denied the accusations from Morris and as she went to the refrigerator for get some ice, Morris grabbed her gun from her bedroom and .. shot Clark in the back and then another three times in the head and chest.

The shooting took place at 8:30pm on Thursday, after which Rosie Morris and another lady fled the house in panic, while concerned neighbours phoned in to report the sound of gunfire to the police ...

2. The bible verse does not apply to "HER"... the bible verse applies to a "HE".
It's right there, in black and white. :)

3. I won't go there...
except to say that SHE chose to take up the calling and some church saw fit to allow her to preach. The standards still apply. That particular bit of scripture is intended to describe what we would call an "Elder" but it gives great insight into what is expected of anyone who answers the calling.

In the name of civility I won't go down the rabbit hole of arguing a woman's role in the Christian church other than ask this question; "Who was the first person given the responsibility of telling the others that Jesus had indeed been raised from the dead?". Hint, John 20:15 in part... ""why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?".

Since this is the Gungeon I will say I am in no way blaming the victim. Even if she was cheating at cards it doesn't mean she needed to be shot. She probably wasn't cheating but we'll never know that now. The murder charge will stick.

4. I call BS on the whole story
Guns are banned in Chicago therefore this couldn't have happened.
After all we all know how well gun babs work.

Do I really need this? :sarcasm:
