Palin Warns NRA Obama Wants to Ban Guns

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin warned NRA members Friday that President Barack Obama wants to gut the Second Amendment and told a separate gathering that "mama grizzlies" will help Republicans win this November, sweeping away the Democratic agenda.

"Don't doubt for a minute that, if they thought they could get away with it, they would ban guns and ban ammunition and gut the Second Amendment," said Palin

She also said Obama is "the most pro-abortion president ever to occupy the White House" and asserted that the health care law would fund abortions.

3. Obama has supported ever piece of antigun legislation that has crossed his desk.

In the past he openly advocated outlawing CCW national ccw and his urban policy still reflects banning "assault weapons" and private sales. Obama's history and voting record are squarely antigun... as are the vice president's, the SOS's, and the attourney general's histories.

If they could get away with stripping gun rights, they would. They know they can't and that they can't afford political capital in the current political climate. If antigun legislation found it's way to Barry's desk his signature would be on it faster than an Ali right-hook.

Obama was a State and US Senator... he could not have signed ANY legislation prior to becoming POTUS.
He did however support gun control by VOTING for and endorsing measures when they would come around.

Measures he commonly supported or voted for as a Senator:

Allow frivolous lawsuits against gun-manufactures (S. 397, 2005)
"Assault Weapon" and Semiauto Ban (Sb1195, 2003)
Has repeatedly supported reinstatement of the failed Clinton AWB
Common rifle ammo ban (S. 397)
Upholding gun bans and prosecute people who use firearms in self defense (SB 2165, 2004)
Refusal to sign a friend-of-the-court Brief in support of individual 2A rights Re: Heller case.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Joyce Foundation
Non-notification to gun-owners when record searches are performed on them (SB 1936, 2002)
Oppose lowering the FOID card age to 18 (this assists young IL residents in the military) (SB 2163, 2004)
One-gun-a-month handgun purchase restrictions (HB 2579,2003)
