Maybe Kal Penn should gets some pointers on personal safety from this 61 year old man.

Rochester, N.Y. - Police are looking for two men they say tried to rob a 61-year old man on his way home from the store Wednesday night only to have him shoot back with his own gun.

Police said when the two approached the victim, one grabbed him and the other pulled a knife. The victim quickly pulled his own gun and fired at the suspects. His gun is licensed and legally registered, police said.

1. Good for him!
Reality check, guys. There are some people who aren't totally cowed by a couple of punks!

2. Kal Pen might get a concealed carry permit, but first he has ...
to move to a state that has reasonable gun laws.

That can't be allowed to happen in DC. If DC actually had gun laws like many of the states, the violent crime rate would fall dramatically and it would be hard for the anti-firearm contingent of the Democratic Party to push more useless "feel good" gun laws.

Chicago will probably have to allow citizens to own firearms after the Supreme Court rules later this year. They to will have a draconian process to navigate before a resident can actually own a firearm. Mayor Daley would look like the fool he is, if the crime rate fell. He can't have that.

The bottom line is that some politicians would rather see the violent crime rate continue than to have to admit that gun control schemes directed against honest people are basically useless.

If you disagree with me, show me why the "assault weapons" ban was a great success. Back it up with facts and statistics, not emotion.

3. As a 62 year old man, I applaud his courage and determination.
Old people are seen as easy targets for many people out there, and this might give them something to think about-may even save others from being attacked.

FWIW, I carry each time I heave home.

4. Yep, us oldsters need to have some sharp fangs.
A few years ago a young punk thought my wife was an easy target, but her .38SP S&W 642 changed his mind for him. He ran away fast, no shots fired.

I am armed anytime I leave the house.

We are both seniors.
