Effect of Brady Campaign boycott....sales increase 7% at Starbucks
Edited on Fri Apr-23-10 10:37 AM by virginia mountainman
Posting its first GAIN since 2007...Starbuck reaps the rewards of telling the Brady Campaign to go suck an egg.

The rise is “the first time since June 2007 that Starbucks’s U.S. business has posted positive traffic,” wrote Sharon Zackfia, an analyst with William Blair & Co. LLC, in a note. “We find both components of comparable-store sales growth to be significant,”

We pro-Civil rights activists, need to spread the word and, continue buying Starbucks...

1. I actually went to a Starbucks because I was curious about it after all this news.
Never been there. I guess it was OK.
I still like Panera's chai tea latte better.

I had my trusty .380acp in my pocket, too... of course, nobody noticed.

4. No doubt. But this "tempest" shows how ineffective the controllers have become. nt

10. Not when the growth is 7% in a few weeks.
We haven't seen a 7% improvement in the economy in that same time. In fact, a few weeks ago I saw an item that jobless claims were up. This is specific to Starbucks.

11. I have started going to Starbucks over this.
I also telephoned Starbucks HQ and told them that and why. Also told the local manager. My wife and and I only get a vanilla bean venti frappuccino twice a month, so our impact is rather tiny, but it is there.

3. Just in! Starbucks welcomes all howitzers. Expects larger revenues. nt

6. Actually, if the howitzer crews could get Starbucks, I'm sure they would.
I doubt FOB Dagger has a good mocha latte machine.

9. Starbucks in my area periodically run "donate coffee to the troops" campaigns
You just buy a bag of coffee or a box of Via instant and drop it into the collection basket. We're pretty close to Fort Lewis, so there's a fair number of GIs around here.

7. Because of all the publicity, Starbucks is probably considered to be ...
the safest place in town, even safer than the doughnut shop where the cops hang out.
