I see the Mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, isn't very liked here.
So, are youse folks going to vote for his opponent in the GE in 2011 (presuming he runs again)? Did you do so in 2007?

1. Not from Chicago
I would vote against him in the primary or whatever Chicago uses to determine who is going to run for Mayor. If he still won, which he would, I probably would sit out the vote. As nice as it would be to win every election, there is only so much corruption I can ignore just because the other candidate is from another party. He's just too married to extremist anti-gun rhetoric and clearly is incapable of helping to implement any policies to effectively deal with the massive drug and gang violence problem in his city.

He's had his shot at making Chicago a better place, and he failed miserably. It's time for a new candidate from our party. One that Daley doesn't have any relationship with.

2. not a resident of Chicago
although given the nature of Chicago politics that is no impediment to voting. I'd support anyone who would reopen Meigs Field.

4. I'm not going to vote for Daley nor for his opponent.
It would just be to inconvenient to do so from North Texas. ;-)

6. I'm hoping that (Rev.) State Senator Meeks runs against him in the primary
Meeks has shown the guts to confront Daley on his pitiful response to gang crime in AA neighborhoods like Englewood and won't be bought off by a political job, the way Luis Guiterriez was. Meeks is also holding the Chicago school system accountable for an embarrassing graduation and drop out rate.

Once upon a time Luis actually challenged Daley for the mayoral nomination, but suddenly accepted a place on the ballot for a safe house seat with Daley's support.

His ego knows no limits and he has no problem paying fines and court costs with tax money, that he raises when needed. The Chicago police have now gone three years with no union contract and he's made it clear he doesn't want one.

Are you going to vote for him?
