Richmond police arrest 15 year-old in church shooting

Richmond police detectives have arrested a 15-year-old in connection with last weekend's shooting inside New Gethsemane Church of God in Christ.

The suspect, accused of involvement in an attack during Sunday service that hospitalized 14- and 19-year-old brothers. remained at Richmond Police Department for questioning Thursday morning, after detectives served several search warrants in connection with the case.

"He is under arrest for conspiracy," Detective Sgt. Bias French said.

Detectives would not publicly discuss the suspect's role in the attack or their theory about motive, or whether they expected more arrests to follow, they said to preserve elements of the investigation.

1. So as well as being already illegal for him to shoot people

It was illegal for him to have possession of the gun in the first place, and illegal for him to carry it into the church (not that it is any worse or any better to shoot people in a church than anywhere else).

We need another law to stop this kind of thing happening!

4. When gang culture becomes dominant, LEO's can't do much...

to stop it. This is the danger of disarming the general population. In such a circumstance, only the LEOs and the gangs will have firearms. Then, gangs can be as blatant as you want; even showy as in this instance.
