6. Proud gun owners are very secretive about their arsenals. That's part of their eternal paradox.
No need to poke a stick into that beehive of paranoia.

7. paranoia??
You do realize, California, HAS used lists of lawfully registered rifles, TO CONFISCATE THEM?!

It is not paranoia, when it has happened in the past....many times..

It still amazes me that someone with Smedley Butler as their avatar, has no trouble infringing on the Bill of Rights..

Major General Smedley Butler

“I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy
investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for.
One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights.
War for any other reason is simply a racket."

Amazing...Just Amazing Shares....

From my chair here, it looks like the Major General would have no problems, going to war against YOU...

9. and don't forget...
In the UK they told the people that the registration system would not lead to total gun confiscation.

And the first few waves of gun confiscation, they said it would not lead to total gun confiscation.

Today UK has total gun ban with total gun confiscation.

So no more believing the liars, we already have proof that you only lie and registration is the start so we need to block all registration laws.

10. That is what they always tell them..
It will never fly here...I don't know anyone who would comply with such a reg...Other than "token" compliance of a few old, near worthless guns, just to "appease the man"...

Yeah, that's why I post pictures of mine all over DU and HuffPo (like THIS and THIS and THIS) to clarify points of law or terminology or illustrate a topic of discussion, and post threads like THIS and THIS in the DU Outdoor Life Group.

Central registries of "Who Owns What" DO have a very bad track record in this and other countries, though, and since the lack of centralized registration is arguably the single greatest barrier we have against selective confiscation a la Australia and the UK, then I think that's a good status quo to maintain.

In a different political climate, where powerful corporate-funded interests and their lapdogs in the MSM weren't fighting to outlaw the gun du jour, registration probably wouldn't be a big deal. But that's not the reality we live in at the moment.
