A 12-year-old boy in custody for bringing a loaded gun to his school Wednesday now has his family facing deportation after it was determined his parents are in the country illegally, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said tonight..

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says deputies are also looking for the boyfriend of the student's Grandma. Investigators believe that man, also a suspected illegal immigrant, was the owner of the gun. The sheriff says it's a felony crime for an illegal immigrant to have a gun.

3. in all fairness the kid is not an illegal alien, just the rest of his family.

However in AZ it illegal for a miner to possess a handgun without parental supervision, so however you slice it the kid shouldn't have had the gun.

He was 12, and he obviously could not read the "No Guns zone" signage...
