newspaper article

LIUDAS DAPKUS, Associated Press Writer
Wednesday, March 3, 2004

(03-03) 12:45 PST VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) --

Jewish groups on Wednesday condemned front-page articles in a leading Lithuanian newspaper that said Jews "ruled the world," denouncing them as some of the worst examples of anti-Semitism in the country since independence from Moscow in 1991.

..............................

Under the headline "Who Rules the World?" Tomkus wrote that "we should be especially careful with Americans, because America is ruled by Jews." He also wrote that Jews "use the issue of the Holocaust to conceal their own crimes."

....................................

Jewish-Lithuanian relations have been strained for years over the role some Lithuanians played in killing Jews during the 1941-44 Nazi occupation. The Holocaust claimed the lives of more than 200,000 Lithuanian Jews -- or 90 percent of the prewar Jewish population in this Baltic state.

I am just glad no one here ever says anything like this.

2. Whats amazing
is that there are so few Jews left there to hate.

I hope some people will realize that this has noting to do with Israel.

3. Believe me, more than just a few Lithuanians took part in the Holocaust.
I did a huge paper on this at the end of high school. The Germans counted on local anti-Semitism to aid them in their extermination of the Jews. There are documents from the German high command saying that they had to "channel Jew hatred into the proper channels". As I learned, the people of the Baltic States were pretty vicious. According to German records, about a dozen Germans (basically just some coordinators and liaisons) and "Lithuanian partizans" killed over 250,000 Jews by firing squad in less than 5 months.

It was pretty ugly to say the least. Those of the Baltic States were somewhat eager to cooperate with the Germans, as were the Ukrainians (the worst of the worst in anti-Semitism prior to WWII, google "Simon Petlura"). Poles were less violent, but there were collaborators who helped the Nazis kill Jews.

Today, these countries act like they had nothing to do with the Holocaust. That is complete bull. While the Nazis were certainly the prime instigators and murderers, many in Eastern Europe were all too happy to assist their German "liberators".

5. that's just fucked
this part was charming too;

One of the articles in the popular Respublika daily -- written by editor Vytas Tomkus -- included a crude caricature of a Jewish figure holding up a globe. He was flanked by a man identified as homosexual. The articles were also critical of gays.

What the hell is the matter with people?
