New Party heavyweight accused of raping maid - TW
The Shihlin Dictrict Court confirmed yesterday that it had opened an investigation into the alleged rape of a Filipina housekeeper by former New Party Legislator Elmer Fung (???).

The New Party suspended Fung's membership yesterday over the allegations.

New Party official Lu Jui-chung (???) said his party has also formed a three-person team to investigate the allegations.

Lu made the remarks after an advocacy group for the rights of foreign laborers accused Fung of sexually assaulting a Filipina housekeeper at his home last month and then sending her back to the Philippines after paying her to keep silent.

The 'New Party' are the original KMT Pigs who invaded Formosa, renamed it Taiwan, murdered the Formosan citizens... They changed their name like Falwell's Moral Majority changed their name to Christian Coalition. Satan in the soul never changes.

1. Rape accusations spark protest

Taiwanese labor activists protested for better treatment of foreign workers yesterday as prosecutors continued with their investigation of allegations that former legislator Elmer Fung (???) had sexually assaulted a Filipina housekeeper.

Gathering outside the Council for Labor Affairs, a group of labor activists said that the country's foreign labor policies had caused the maid's predicament.

The Taiwan International Workers' Association on Sunday accused Fung of sexually assaulting the maid, identified only by her first name, Rose, and sending her back to the Philippines to keep her quiet after paying her NT$800,000 (US$24,150).

2. Fung settlement released
According to the English-language version of the agreement which appeared in the Chinese-language newspaper, the agreement was made between Rose, identified as the first party, and Fung as represented by his wife, who is dubbed the second party.

The first article states that "both parties who are involved in a case of sexual abuse now pending investigation at the Taipei City Police Station, Taipei, Taiwan, have reached an agreement. The First Party agrees not to pursue any labor, civil or criminal charge against the Second Party either in the courts of Taiwan or the Philippines."

The second article indicated that whatever transpired was "due to lack of communication between both parties."
