Rush hour stopped by taxi rank gun battle - SA
Peak afternoon commuter traffic at the busy Cape Town station deck taxi rank was reduced to chaos on Friday as warring taxi factions fired shots and flung stones and bottles.

At least six taxis had their windscreens or side windows smashed, and one man was reportedly bleeding heavily after being struck on the head.

A traffic police officer was hit in the back with a bottle but was not badly injured. Several passengers who were in the taxis were hit by flying glass. Some were badly shocked.

Windscreen glass littered the road at the rank.
