25 rebels killed in northern Uganda
Kampala - Twenty-five rebels have been killed and 47 children rescued from rebel captivity over the past week, Ugandan military authorities said on Monday.

Nineteen fighters of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) were killed on various days last week in fierce fighting in Gulu district, about 360 kilometres north of the capital Kampala, said Lieutenant Paddy Ankunda, army spokesperson for the area.

He added that 34 captives were also rescued and various weapons captured while the army suffered two injuries.
