Never forget - 227 days
Do not let the opposition define us.

We must still stress that there was a difference of 227 days between the "Victory in Iraq!" (declaration of victory) photo op and the capture of Saddam Hussein.

In other words, it took reality 227 days (over 7 months) to catch up with the PR.

Does anybody here truly believe that Iraq will suddenly become a safe place for Americans just because SH was captured?

1. America will not become a safer place until

All the peoples of the world are subjugated to its whims and actions.

That's how the repukes see it.

Our empire will likely crumble in 50 years. Less if the nations of the world boycott us and the oil collecting nations stop selling to us, or if Bush manages to drive the world to thermonuclear war, we all know he wants to build AND USE useable, tactical nukes (which proves he's no christian of any sort).

2. Forget about Iraq being a safe place ...
We were told that Saddam could launch nukes within 45 minutes so we had to invade immediately! Saddam's capture doesn't change the fact that the Bushies lied to go to war. Of course, the sheeple don't care and the media won't mention it ... :grr:

3. I'm really not worried about it
There's a long, long way to the election. If the economy isn't improved and Iraq is still unstable, this will be largely forgotten. Is anyone thinking of the toppling of the statue any longer?

It's a good thing for Saddam to be caught. I was horribly afraid Bush would declare victory and retreat. Then, Saddam could come back and kill thousands again.

Look at it this way...Saddam is no longer Bush's excuse for things not going his way. Any failure in Iraq now rests at his door. We'll see how long this bounce lasts for him.
