Suspicious Envelope Causes Evacuation Of Sheriff's Office

<snip>

Capt. Angelo Nieves, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said two people who handled the envelope felt ill shortly afterwards. The two people were treated but were not taken to the hospital.

Chief David Haley, of the Fire and Rescue, said the affected people had difficulty breathing after they were in contact with a fluid that was leaking from the envelope. He said when the Hazmat team got the envelope, a plastic bag had been placed over it.

Haley said the person who had delivered the envelope had called in sick. They said the envelope had gone through the mail room and had been taken to an office by department couriers.

3. We had a hazmat/bomb scare ruckus across the street from my office
a couple of years ago on a Sunday AM.

I was talking to one of the cops standing around, and he said there was a duffle bag at the bank building. I speculated that it was probably some homeless person's junk (we have a persistent problem with them here). He agreed. And it turned out that's exactly what it was.

10-15 cop cars, the bomb squad, dogs, helicopters..........hours and hours of traffic completely stopped on the main drag..............for a bag of dirty clothes and used fast food wrappers........We have lost our minds.

4. But we all feel safer now, right? - Fighting "them" over there so we don't have to fight them here
.
.
.

only problem is

We are creating more of "them" by killing millions of innocents overseas

as well as bringing back young soldiers with mental anguish over what they have seen and done in the ME.

A total "lose lose" situation
