Chinese President Hu Jintao (???) has urged the country's paramilitary police to do more to ensure social stability, state media said yesterday as the country faced more unrest.
"China needs a peaceful and sound international environment and a harmonious and stable domestic environment to realize its lofty goals in building a well-off society in an all-round way," Hu was quoted by the People's Daily as saying.
The Chinese president was speaking at a meeting on Wednesday with delegates to the first congress of Communist Party members of the Chinese People's Armed Police (PAP).
