genetically modified rice has been sold in central China for two years?
Above, a researcher inspects genetically modified papaya at an agricultural development center in northern Thailand. Below, farmers harvest rice from paddies near Danian, in China's Guangxi province. China has ordered an investigation into claims that unapproved genetically modified rice has been sold in central China for two years.

Two elderly women make ``zongzi,'' or sticky rice dumplings wrapped in banana leaves, for an early celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival in Taipei yesterday. The event was organized by the Federation for the Welfare of the Elderly.
